In order to more accurately plan for a future drought, a further study of drought characterization has been undertaken. Results of this study will answer questions such as: How rare was the 1930s drought? The year 1988 was a dry year, how does it compare with the 1930s? Is designing the project for a 1930s type drought reasonable, and how much risk are we taking? These results can then be applied to the drought scenario planning.
